Involvement in activities outside of the classroom makes school much more enjoyable. Getting involved is a great way to challenge yourself, meet new people, explore new interests, build character, and have fun. There are long-term benefits as well: it looks good on college applications and job applications, and it shows admissions officers and employers that you’re well-rounded and responsible. Studies show that kids who are involved in activities are less likely to be at risk for substance use, delinquency, and school dropout. Be involved and be successful!
Sports will look a little different to start the year and DMPS will be unveiling a concept called Skills Academy. You can read more about what that means by clicking this LINK.
Sign up now for winter skill development camps by clicking HERE so we can let the coach know you’re interested. If your student didn’t get registered for a sport during summer registration, you can complete the registration process HERE. Students need an athletic physical prior to participating in sports. Take this FORM to your family doctor and have them complete it during a physical examination. Bring it in to our school nurse when completed.
