Pledge for Respect

On Wednesday, March 7, staff and students came together to pledge their support to respect all students.  “Spread the Word to End to the Word” is a day of awareness promoted by the Special Olympics.  The campaign is used to encourage respect for individuals with intellectual disabilities by striving to eliminate the use of the “R-word” in an offensive manner.  Individuals were invited to sign banners declaring their support.  Staff also wore shirts to promote the day.  Classes had opportunities to share and discuss their thoughts throughout the day as well.
