USS Iowa Donation Day
On Monday, February 12, two our teachers and a selection of our Pro-Motion students had the opportunity to present our donation of $687.26 to the USS Iowa Foundation in a ceremony that took place at the State Capitol Building! The money was raised through our community Veteran’s Day Dinner held this past November. The group handed the money to Simon Conway of WHO 1040 AM radio and a USS Iowa Museum trustee. If you were tuned in at all that evening, two of our students were interviewed live on-air! The ship currently resides at the Los Angeles Waterfront, open to the public as an interactive naval museum. It will be celebrating its 75th birthday on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
