September – Caring Month

Informed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) mission to develop active, compassionate and lifelong learners, the IB programmes foster a distinctive set of attributes. These qualities—embodied in the IB learner profile—prepare IB students to make exceptional contributions on campus.  For the month of September, we highlighted the “Caring” Learner Profile.  A caring person shows empathy, compassion, and respect.  They are committed to service and making a difference to those around them and within their community.  These qualities were highlighted both in and out of the classroom for the month.

Teachers nominated students who demonstrated caring throughout the month of September.  Students were individually recognized around the school.  The entire school was also invited to share how THEY can show caring.  These plates are taped up throughout our school’s main hallway.

Our Pride Times (homerooms) also collected canned goods to be sent to Houston to help out the disaster relief.  Pride Times competed with each other to collect the most goods.  A number of materials were collected and the winner was rewarded with a pizza party.
